Conference Overview

Do you spend all your time and energy focusing on others? This is the time to focus on you! At Power of the Individual, reflect and focus on personal development, lifestyle, and balance. Get inspired and motivated by others on how to make positive change happen in your career and community.

The 2019 POI committee is currently in the planning stages for the Power of the Individual conference being held in Champaign-Urbana.

At the 2018 POI, a large portion of the conference was styled as a workshop where the class learn and used the philosophy and methodology from the book Play Your Bigger Game by Rick Tamlyn.  The workshop was lead by Shirley Stelbrink, LI Class of 2006, Owner and Senior Consultant, Learning Alliances Company.

Thank you  to our 2018 sponsors:

  • I have to admit, I didn't know what to expect from this conference; focusing on me has never been a priority. And now I realize how important it is for me to relax, reflect, set goals, and focus on my well-being. It makes me a better colleague, mom, friend and person.
    - Monica Rausa Williams, Class of 2008

  • I really connected with LI because I got the opportunity to spend a good amount of time with other women in similar positions, struggling with many of the same issues. I’ve met countless classmates and alum who’ve demonstrated that you can be a successful leader and still be yourself.
    - Kathleen Wessel, Class of 2011
