  • I have to admit, I didn't know what to expect from this conference; focusing on me has never been a priority. And now I realize how important it is for me to relax, reflect, set goals, and focus on my well-being. It makes me a better colleague, mom, friend and person.
    - Monica Rausa Williams, Class of 2008

  • I really connected with LI because I got the opportunity to spend a good amount of time with other women in similar positions, struggling with many of the same issues. I’ve met countless classmates and alum who’ve demonstrated that you can be a successful leader and still be yourself.

The Alumni Dinner

2017 Alumni Night

Illinois Shakespeare Festival

Cymbeline with special backstage tour

6 p.m. Thursday, July 13, Ewing Manor, Bloomington, Illinois

Alumni, we hope you can join this great opportunity to catch up with fellow Leadership Illinois alums, meet current class members, explore the grounds of Ewing Manor, enjoy a picnic and be entertained and enthralled by the pre-show back stage tour and Cymbeline, Shakespeare performance.

Delight in a night of fantastical performance as the 2017 Leadership Illinois cohort takes in a performance of the Illinois Shakespeare Festival’s amazing Cymbeline at the historic Ewing Manor in Normal, Illinois.

Guests will enjoy a picnic dinner on the grounds of the enchanting Ewing Manor, a beautifully preserved Channel-Normal style residence built in the 1920s for Hazle Buck Ewing, a noted advocate for women’s suffrage and peace efforts.

Indulge in a relaxing stroll through the Genevieve Green Gardens that surround the manor house before joining a special pre-show backstage tour with Festival organizers. Then revel in the performance of Shakespeare’s Cymbeline.

One of Shakespeare’s earlier plays, Cymbeline has been called a romance, a comedy, and even a historic fantasy. A brilliant princess, an evil queen, a misguided king, and a thoroughly rotten clown are just some of the characters in this fairy tale romance, made even more whimsical and theatrical by Chris Coleman’s six-person adaptation, in which five actors and a musician play all the parts.

The cost for dinner, the show, and the special backstage tour is $55 for Fellow (dues paid members) / $65 for Alumni (non-dues paid members.  Registration by June 28, 2017 - no exceptions!
